But Thuvia is stolen away by Astok, Prince of Dusar, Ptarth's rival. Carthoris tracks Thuvia across Barsoom and rescues her only to find she is already betrothed to Kulan Tith, Jeddak of Kaol, an ally of Helium. "Thuvia, Maid of Mars" was first published as "Carthoris" in All-Story Weekly (April 8, 15, 22, 1916). The first hardcover edition was published by A.C. McClurg & Co., October 30, 1920. The original edition was bound in an olive green cloth with black lettering on the spine and front. The dust jacket, in color was by J. Allen St. John. Ten illustrations were done by J. Allen St. John. The text of this edition is from the 1920 A.C. McClurg edition. The front cover picture of this edition is a restored copy of the front of the original dust jacket. All the original interior illustrations are reproduced in this edition.

This commemorative edition offers the full text along with a map of the fictional land of Pellucidar, illustrations, a glossary, and both a new introduction and an afterword on the science used in the story. This may be a little corny by today's standards, but it's still fun.

It would be the retelling of the events of Twilight, but written from the perspective of Edward Cullen as opposed to that of Bella Swan.Meyer has stated that Twilight is the only book from the series that she plans to rewrite from Edward's perspective.To give them a better feel of Edward's character, Meyer allowed Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the film adaptation of Twilight, and Robert Pattinson, the actor playing Edward, to read some completed chapters of the novel while they filmed the movie.
