[kjv] We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
[bbe] We give praise to God at all times for you, keeping you in memory in our prayers;
[kjv] Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
[bbe] Having ever in mind your work of faith and acts of love and the strength of your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father;
[kjv] Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
[bbe] Being conscious, my brothers, dear to God, that you have been marked out by God's purpose;
[kjv] For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
[bbe] Because our good news came to you, not in word only, but in power, and in the Holy Spirit, so that you were completely certain of it; even as you saw what our behaviour to you was like from our love to you.
[kjv] And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:
[bbe] And you took us and the Lord as your example, after the word had come to you in much trouble, with joy in the Holy Spirit;
[kjv] So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
[bbe] So that you became an example to all those who have faith in Christ in Macedonia and Achaia.
[kjv] For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
[bbe] For not only was the word of the Lord sounding out from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith in God is made clear; so that we have no need to say anything.
[kjv] For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
[bbe] For they themselves give the news of how we came among you; and how you were turned from images to God, to the worship of a true and living God,
[kjv] And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
[bbe] Waiting for his Son from heaven, who came back from the dead, even Jesus, our Saviour from the wrath to come.
